What We’ve Learned: Best ChatGPT Prompts for CRE Email Marketing

We continue to explore ways to use conversational AI and language learning models like ChatGPT. In this article, we explore:

  1. Tips for getting the most from Chat GPT for email marketing, including an example of an email workflow written by Chat GPT for a fictitious commercial cleaning business for prospecting and lead generation.

  2. 11 additional ways to use Chat GPT for marketing efforts.

  3. Additional resources for mastering Chat GPT.

Chat GPT is a powerful language model that uses artificial intelligence to generate human-like responses in real-time conversations. It is not a search engine, although it can be used to search for information. However, instead of simply finding information online, it uses advanced natural language processing techniques to understand and generate human-like responses. Literally, you can have conversations with ChatGPT. Read more about our take on ChatGPT in this post from February.

In today’s article, we further explore how CRE professionals are leveraging powerful technology like Chat GPT (as well as Bard, Google’s AI experiment) for marketing and the types of benefits it has to offer.

Tips for Getting the Most from ChatGPT for Email Marketing

ChatGPT can be a valuable tool for email marketing, and the more you use it, the more it will adapt to align with your brand guidelines and goals. The biggest piece of advice we can give is: Don’t settle for less than what you want. This AI technology is designed to learn from you. If you don’t like what you got, send it back and ask for more. The more you experiment with it, the more you and the AI tool learn about each other.

Kinda eerie, isn’t it?

Here are a few advantages of ChatGPT for email marketing:

  1. Quickly create a large variety of email content.

  2. Generate ideas for content, subject lines, pre-headers and calls to action.

  3. Experiment with different email styles, such as conversational or storytelling formats, quickly generating engaging narratives that resonate with your audience.

  4. Create variations of your existing email content for A/B testing to determine the most effective language, messaging, and offers.

  5. Create dynamic email templates that can be customized for individual recipients, saving time while maintaining a personal touch.

  6. Use the model as a proofreading tool to ensure your email content is error-free and to help enhance the professionalism of emails.

Here is the outline we provided:

11 Additional Ways to Use ChatGPT Experiment for Marketing

ChatGPT can help with your outbound marketing outreach strategy, enabling personalized and engaging interactions with potential customers at scale.

  1. Create dynamic and engaging sales scripts or call scripts, helping to keep messaging consistent during outbound calls. See our article from last month where we include examples of how sales professionals use conversational AI to practice pitches and rebuttals.

  2. Generate persuasive ad copy for digital advertising campaigns (ask ChatGPT for two versions for A/B testing).

  3. Create personalized landing page copy that aligns with specific outbound campaigns.

  4. Generate elevator pitches and one-liners that succinctly convey your value proposition for networking events and opportunities.

  5. Create persuasive and personalized LinkedIn connection requests or direct messages to initiate conversations with potential leads.

  6. Create social media posts covering products, features, events, or anything else you want to bring attention to.

  7. Generate hashtags that align with your brand and content, enhancing discoverability and reach.

  8. Create interactive social media polls or quizzes, encouraging audience interaction and gathering valuable insights.

  9. Generate variations of your social media ad copy for A/B testing to improve messaging and drive better results.

  10. Create social media templates for different types of posts (e.g., product highlights, testimonials, industry news) to maintain consistency and streamline content creation.

  11. Generate ideas for social media contests or giveaways, creating excitement and encouraging user participation

Integrating ChatGPT into your marketing efforts has its benefits. It’s not perfect, but it’s close. At most, it saves time generating standardized content that you edit in a fraction of the time it would have taken you to do the research, write the first drafts and revise. Just remember the limitations inherent to all AI programs and create a system for checking accuracy and brand guidelines. After all, it is a tool to augment your efforts, not replace your insights and industry knowledge.
